By the time a traveller has two properties open in two browser tabs, the facts are settled. Both have a pool, both have breakfast, both are the right distance from the sea. What separates them is a feeling — the temperature of the stone at seven in the evening, how quiet the corridor is, what the place sounds like when nobody is performing for the camera.

Most hotel imagery answers the question the booking page already answered: an inventory of rooms, a sunset, a logo. It is competent, it is expensive, and it changes nothing.

We know before the first frame what the set has to prove. That is the difference between a shoot and a day of photographs.

The hours

First and last light, and the awkward blue half hour in between. Two to four days on location, planned around the sun rather than around the schedule.

The subjects

Architecture, gastronomy, landscape and the human moments between them. Cast where casting is honest and never where it is not — a hotel populated by models reads as a hotel nobody stays in.

The craft

Available light wherever it will hold, tethered and graded on set, colour managed end to end so what you approve is what publishes.

A film is the only asset you own that can transfer atmosphere. It is not an inventory: pool, suite, breakfast, sunset, logo. Often the strongest sequence in a hotel film has no room in it at all.

One film, cut for the site, and shorter forms drawn from the same material for social and paid. It is the asset a property is still using in five years, which is worth remembering while deciding what to spend on it.

Every frame delivered in the crops each channel actually needs — hero, card, portrait, story, print — with captions and rights documented. Sets are usually ruined not by the shoot but by the three years of bad re-crops that follow it.
